Voluntary exit from scheme

How to voluntarily exit the scheme

Send a signed letter on your business letterhead to the Department of Transport and Main Roads with:
  • your client number
  • contact details
  • date of your voluntary exit

This letter must be received by the department within seven days of your voluntary exit date.

The letter can be posted to:

NHVAS Administrator
Department of Transport and Main Roads
PO Box 673
Fortitude Valley 4006

or scanned and emailed to NHVAS@tmr.qld.gov.au.

The department will send you a letter confirming that you have been removed from the scheme.

Important requirements on scheme exit

  1. Removal of labels — operators must ensure that all labels are removed and destroyed. It is an offence to falsely claim accreditation through use of a label or any other means. Anyone who does so may be subject to a financial penalty in addition to other sanctions.
  2. Vehicles will require a certificate of inspection prior to being driven on the road when:
  • the vehicle exits the maintenance management module
  • the operator exits the maintenance management module
  • the vehicle is removed from the maintenance management module.
Any vehicle found operating on the road without a current certificate of inspection may be subject to prosecution under the Vehicle Standards and Safety Regulation 1999.
