Transport and Main Roads AutoCAD customisation

Based on user feedback, the Point 3 (e.g. 2010.3) customisation has been enhanced and is now referred to as the Point 4 customisation (e.g. 2010.4a).  Please refer to the Revision History file below, for your particular version.  Additionally versions compatible with AutoCAD 2011 and 2012 have been developed.

We expect that there will be further improvements as the new customisation gets more widely used. To help CADD Systems notify users of these updates, it would be appreciated if those who download and install the customisation would click on the following link and provide your contact details in the e-mail body: Register Contact Details.

Please note: Under the Transport and Main Roads (TMR) Major Account agreement with Autodesk, we are only able to gain support for four (4) versions of AutoCAD at a time.  This means that we will be discontinuing the oldest version of the customisation when each new version of AutoCAD becomes available. The current versions released to the department are AutoCAD 2010 and Map 3D 2010.
In accordance with the Major Account Agreement, we are providing cutomisations for AutoCAD 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 as of this release.

The Transport and Main Roads AutoCAD Customisation contains tools and objects that enable the production of drawings that are in compliance with standards documented in the Department's Drafting and Design Presentation Standards Manual.

Specifically the customisation contains and implements:

  • Blocks
  • Dimension Styles
  • Custom Hatch Patterns
  • Fonts
  • Layer Standards
  • Linetypes
  • Plan Sheets
  • Table Styles
  • Text Styles

These are implemented through:

  1. An MR Tools menu
  2. Tool palettes

The help file available from the MR Tools menu in AutoCAD or C:\Apps\MR_CUST\ACAD\ACAD<Version>\Help\ACAD<Version>_Cust.chm(once extracted), provides detailed explanation of the content.

What's new

The attached file outlines the most important updates to the customisation.  It is not version specific.  For a more detailed explanation refer to the Revision History file associated with your version of the customisation.

What's new

Note: VBA content has been migrated to C# .Net. This addresses Autodesk's move to stop supporting VBA from AutoCAD 2010.

Installation

For installation instructions, please refer to the Installation Notes.

Upgrading from a previous version of the customisation

Uninstalling requires a few simple steps:

  1. Delete Profiles
    1. Go to Tools–>Options within AutoCAD/Map/Civil3D;
    2. Select the Profiles Tab;
    3. Ensure that the default AutoCAD profile <<Unnamed Profile>> is set to current;
    4. Delete all customisationm profiles;
      • AutoCAD
        • MR_Standard_ACAD
      • Map 3D
        • MR_Standard_Map
      • Civil 3D
        • Civil3D_w_MRCUST
  2. Delete the C:\Apps\MR_CUST\ACAD\ACAD<Version> folder (e.g. C:\Apps\MR_CUST\ACAD\ACAD2010)
  3. Delete any shortcuts. The simplest method is to perform a search in the Documents and Settings folder for files with the pattern "MR ACAD*.lnk" (including the quotes because of the space in the name).
