Special Purpose Limousines

The introduction of Special Purpose Limousines (SPL) on 3 November 2008 saw an increase in the types of vehicles that are able to provide limousine services in Queensland. Special Purpose Limousines are restricted to providing wedding, formal and tourist services. There are two classes of vehicles that can operate as Special Purpose Limousines:

  • vehicles more than 30 years old
  • stretched vehicles that are too old to operate as a standard limousine (see schedule 4 of Transport Operation (Passenger Transport Regulation 1995).
