Guide for development in a railway environment

About the Guide

The Guide for development in a railway environment (PDF, 348 KB) provides information about the matters that should be taken into account when undertaking development in a railway environment. This guide, which references key components of Queensland Rail technical standards and drawings, has been created through the collaboration of Transport and Main Roads (TMR), Queensland Rail and Department of Infrastructure and Planning (DIP) through Growth Management Queensland (GMQ).

The guide is part of a suite of guidelines and planning tools that have been developed by GMQ - Transit Orientated Development: Guide for Practitioners in Queensland – which help build understanding of the transit orientated developments (TOD) concept and good practice in the Queensland context.

A proposed development is to comply, where relevant, with the Queensland Rail technical requirements and standard drawings outlined below.

Early consultation with TMR is strongly recommended to confirm how the information contained in the Guide for development in a railway environment applies to a proposed development.
