Rail strategy

Community and stakeholder feedback during preparation of the Rail Network Strategy identified nine main issues affecting the rail network. The strategy will be further reviewed and updated through periodic community and stakeholder consultation.
We analysed the feedback in stakeholder and community submissions and, where appropriate, incorporated the results in this document. While it was not practical to incorporate all the views of all the respondents, consultation demonstrated widespread support for the development and implementation of this strategy for the state's rail network.
The nine main themes are:
- funding
- investment criteria
- review of competitive neutrality between transport modes
- local government involvement
- uniformity and interoperability
- consultation and planning
- performance measures and reporting
- ecological sustainability rail corridor land acquisition
- marketing.
