Goods and services procurement that supports environmental and social objectives
The Queensland Procurement Policy (June 2013) is the overarching procurement policy for goods and services, including construction, across Queensland Government and governs procurement within Transport and Main Roads.
Principle 4 of the policy states 'we use our procurement to advance the government’s economic, environmental and social objectives and support the long-term wellbeing of our community'.
The department encourages and supports local, social and sustainable initiatives as part of the procurement process, as these initiatives ensure value for money outcomes are achieved.
