Goods and services procurement that supports environmental and social objectives

The Queensland Procurement Policy (QPP) is the overarching procurement policy used by the Queensland Government to advance the government's economic, environmental and social objectives.

In the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) the QPP is leveraged to develop procurement strategies that support local, social and sustainable initiatives as part of the procurement process.

TMR also leverages the Queensland Indigenous (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Procurement Policy to increase the value of Queensland Government contracts awarded to Indigenous businesses while supporting the development, sustainable growth of Indigenous businesses and the private sector to create employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders.
