Our RAP journey
Reconciliation Action Plan
I am pleased to present Transport and Main Roads’ 2010–12 Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) outlining our ongoing commitment to ensure that closing the gap in disadvantage becomes a reality in the lives of the First Australians.
We already have a celebrated reputation for exceeding goals and targets. We will continue in this way as we aim to be an exemplar to all who set out to achieve real reconciliation.
We recognise that the work we do connecting people and places helps to meet the diverse needs of everyone across the state.
Our RAP identifies the steps the department will take to strengthen relationships, promote respect and create opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We will continue to develop our RAP in consultation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and Reconciliation Australia. By keeping this document alive we continue to adopt new ways to guide how we will improve the way we contribute to reconciliation in Queensland.
This is practical reconciliation that will bring about real changes in people’s lives.
I look forward to sharing the RAP journey with you all.
Reconciliation is everyone’s business.
