Transport Information bulletins

Information bulletins are published as an interpretation of transport legalisation and departmental policy. The documents should not be used as a reference to a point of law. Public transport operators, drivers or interested persons can clarify any information contained in these bulletins by contacting the nearest passenger transport office.

Updated to reflect recent amendments to Schedule 1 of the Transport Operations (Passenger Transport) Standard 2010.

1. The maximum age for a heavy vehicle bus that is an open classification vehicle has been changed from 15 to 25 years, and

2. The minimum age a heavy vehicle bus that is an open, regional or local classification vehicle may have an application for a 5 year life extension made has been changed from 13 to 18 years.

Please note: the identification numbering of vehicle standards information bulletins is changing from VSA to VS (Vehicle Standards) for consistency.
