Privacy

Protection of an individuals’ privacy is a high priority for the Queensland Government as new licence, authority and proof of age cards are rolled out. Input from privacy advocates and the public has been instrumental in ensuring privacy and security of personal and licensing information remains a high priority for the Department of Transport and Main Roads.

The development of the new cards is in accordance with the following key legislative and regulatory requirements:

  • Queensland Information Privacy Act 2009
  • Queensland Right to Information Act 2009
  • Queensland Government Information Standards (Information Privacy Principles set out in IS42).

Transport and Main Roads is committed to ensuring the privacy, accuracy and security of your personal information. Transport and Main Roads has a Complaints Management Policy in place that will address any concerns and complaints. However, if you have a query about the use of your personal information or you wish to make a complaint, please email privacy@tmr.qld.gov.au. If after contacting Transport and Main Roads the complaint has not been resolved, members of the public will be able to contact the Queensland Privacy Commissioner on 3234 7373.
