Project info

$49 million worth of reconstruction works have commenced on flood-damaged sections of the Gregory Developmental Road, south of Charters Towers.

The restoration work is a rolling program that will deliver over 40 km of rehabilitated road between Victoria Creek and Policeman Creek, south of Charters Towers.

Damaged pavement in this section will be repaired to ensure the safety of all road users and the freight efficiency of this link.

The safety of motorists and road workers is the number one priority when delivering these works. Traffic lights, traffic controllers, single lane closures and speed restrictions will be used at worksites. Motorists should drive to the changed traffic conditions and obey all signage for their own safety and the safety of road workers. Delays are expected and motorists should plan their journeys to include additional breaks.
