Payment options
You can pay your registration using any one of these convenient options. The registration label and certificate will be posted to you regardless of where or how you choose to pay. If paying in person, you will receive a receipt. If paying by telephone, you will be given a receipt number at the time of payment. Please keep this number as proof of payment.
Pay over the internet
You can pay your registration renewal online by credit card. The Department of Transport and Main Roads accepts only Visa card and Mastercard, and has a credit card payment limit of A$5000. That is, credit card payments cannot exceed A$5000 on any one day. If you wish to use this payment option please check our scheduled system outage times to ensure payment can be processed at this time.
Pay by phone
Phone 13 23 90y to pay with your credit card. Refer to the payment reference number provided on the top of the front page of the renewal notice. Pay by mail
Make your cheque or money order out to Department of Transport and Main Roads and forward with payment slip portion of the renewal notice to:

Pay by BPAY
Contact your participating financial institution to make payment (by cheque, savings or credit card). Use the payment reference number and biller code from the top of the first page of your notice. It may take several days for your institution to process your BPAY payment. Check how long this will take with your institution before lodging your payment.
Pay at an Australia Post office
Provided there are no changes to your registration details, you can pay at any post office in Queensland on or before the due date by cash, cheque, money order, EFTPOS debit or credit card.
Australia Post also administers a Planned Payment Scheme. This scheme allows individuals to pay registration renewal fees by instalments (minimum payment of A$40.00) in advance of the next registration renewal. For further details, contact your local post office.
Pay at a Department of Transport and Main Roads customer service centre

Pay at another agency
These are Queensland Government Agency Program (QGAP) offices, Magistrates Courts Offices or Police Stations authorised to transact vehicle registrations, generally in population centres with no Department of Transport and Main Roads customer service centre. Cash, cheque and money orders are accepted.
