Rider survivor

A picture of a motorbike rider's perspective

An increasing number of fatalities and serious injuries result from crashes involving motorcycle riders. Transport and Main Roads is working with other government agencies and industry groups to draw attention to motorcycle safety. The rider survivor program is a key initiative of these efforts.

Rider survivor is a 'grass roots' motorcycle safety awareness program developed in response to the increasing number of motorcycle fatalities and serious injuries in Queensland. Predominantly carried out in south east Queensland, rider survivor events engage the riding community and inform motorcycle riders about safer riding techniques through displays, demonstrations, and discussion. Principal supporters of the program include the Queensland Police Service, the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service and the Motorcycle Riders Association of Queensland.

Rider Survivor events are scheduled for:

  • Sunday 10 April 2011, 8–1 pm
    Christie Street, Canungra
    (next to the Outpost Cafe)
