Dangerous goods

The Department of Transport and Main Roads is the authority for the safe transport of dangerous goods by rail in Queensland.

The Transport Infrastructure (Dangerous Goods by Rail) Regulation 2008 reduces risk by giving effect to the standards and requirements of the Australian Dangerous Goods Code*. It also promotes consistency between rail and other modes of transport in relation to the transport of dangerous goods.
