Drink driving campaigns

Drink driving continues to be one of the major killers on Queensland roads.

Transport and Main Roads runs drink driving education campaigns that are coordinated with Queensland Police Service enforcement efforts (such as random breath testing).

Be a hero, be a dry driver

Queenslanders are being encouraged to plan ahead and designate a dry driver as a simple way to ensure everyone gets home safely.

The safest option if you’re going to drink alcohol is to avoid driving all together. If you are going to celebrate with a drink, make sure you organise how to get home safely before you head out for the night.

Volunteer to be the dry driver and your friends will salute you.

Recent campaign - Mates Motel

The Mates Motel campaign, launched in December 2014, encouraged people to stay at a mate's place rather than driving home after drinking.

There were 2 television commercials, with 1 targeting at guests and 1 for hosts. The campaign was supported by billboards, radio, online advertising and other online activity.

Join the Drive to Save Lives
