Educational resources

A number of educational and information resources are available to address school transport safety concerns and to support the integration of road safety education within the school curriculum.
Contact your local road safety staff for further information.
Bicycle education
As children grow older, they need to learn how to ride on paths and roads without parental supervision.
A practical bicycle education program provides a safe and controlled learning environment in which children can learn riding skills, road rules and how to identify hazards in the environment where they cycle.
Bicycle education can be provided by schools and community groups. Contact your local road safety staff for further information.
Student driver education
The student driver education program aims to develop students' knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviour as they enter the road environment as young drivers. The materials are designed for the classroom and are comprised of group work, independent research and work tasks, and class discussions on road safety issues.
