Disability Service Plan 2011–14

The Disability Services Act 2006 provides a strong foundation for promoting the rights of people with a disability, increasing their wellbeing and encouraging their participation in the life of the community. Under the Act, all government departments are required to develop and implement a Disability Service Plan.

The Queensland Government has developed a 10 year plan ‘Absolutely everybody – enabling Queenslanders with a disability’ to support Queenslanders with a disability. Our department supports this whole of government commitment.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads Disability Service Plan 201114 has been developed to enable the department to improve participation of people with a disability. The plan builds on the achievements of earlier plans as well as incorporating the ‘Absolutely everybody’ vision of inclusive communities where people with a disability are enabled to lead valued and fulfilling lives. The plan also demonstrates the department’s continuing commitment to ensure that all Queenslanders have appropriate transport choices and fair access to the transport system.

If you wish to comment or provide feedback on the plan please email diversity@tmr.qld.gov.au.
