Hinterland Connect bus service (between Maleny and Nambour)
Hinterland Connect is currently jointly funded by the Queensland Government, through TransLink, in partnership with the Sunshine Coast Council.
The service provides public transport to local residents, improves access to the area and gives tourists from the coast and Brisbane a new way to visit the beautiful scenic towns of the hinterland. It also provides commuters with a direct connection with bus and rail services at Nambour. On weekends, it offers hinterland residents a public transport link to Landsborough which has not existed before.
To make travel easier and more convenient, Hinterland Connect offers a hail 'n' ride service. Passengers can signal the driver between regular scheduled stops, and board or depart from the bus as long as it is safe for the driver to stop.
The Hinterland Connect bus is fully air conditioned, equipped with seatbelts and modified for wheelchair accessibility. Hinterland Connect signage appears across the front and sides of the bus to assist commuters to easily identify the service.
