Heavy Vehicle Response Unit

Heavy Vehicle Response UnitHeavy Vehicle Response Units (HVRUs) are capable of repositioning and/or moving rolled or damaged heavy trucks and semi-trailers and their loads. Vehicles can then be removed by conventional towing methods.

HVRUs proceed to incidents and are ready to respond once the scene is deemed safe by the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service and Queensland Police incident investigators.

Immobilised, rolled or damaged trucks/trailers and their loads are moved until the owner can retrieve the vehicle and/or load at a more convenient time.

This service is provided by the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
