Regional FlatFare taxi services
FlatFare is a taxi service operated by taxi companies in regional centres and supported by the department. Passengers can pay a flat fare rate to share the ride home with other people going in the same direction. FlatFare taxi services are 'share ride' and not a personalised taxi service.
FlatFare services offer:
- Single fare—a per person fare
- Couples fare—per 2 people
- Group fare—for groups of 5 or more people travelling to the same location.
Single passengers and couples using the service will be required to wait until the taxi rank marshal forms a suitable group going in the same general direction to share the taxi.
The fare is paid directly to the driver at the beginning of the journey. Passengers are required to pay cash. Credit cards are not accepted.
Gold Coast FlatFare taxi
The service is operated by Regent Taxis on Friday and Saturday nights from 11pm until 5am from the secure taxi rank on the southern side of Cavill Avenue (opposite Fiddlers Green).
