Technical training

The technical training and development program service offers quality face to face and eLearning training and skilling solutions to transport infrastructure providers, both within and external to Transport and Main Roads, the civil construction industry and local authorities. The 5 critical disciplines are:
  • engineering
  • design
  • survey 
  • materials testing
  • construction practices. 
Many of the short course programs are designed and developed by internal technical experts, in collaboration with industry experts, using an interactive classroom format.

NEW - eLearning training programs
The department has developed two eLearning programs:

  • Work in Proximity to Traffic - Awareness
  • Working in Proximity to Traffic - Application Works protection Methods
  1. Work in Proximity to Traffic - Awareness
    • Designed for new entrants to industry and workers who carry out short term, low impact work. This package will enhance the user's ability to identify hazards at work sites, as well as, allow them to confirm the personnel responsible for selecting and implementing works protection methods have followed the process necessary to ensure the safety of workers.
