Standard contract provisions roads (vol. 1): road construction contract

The Transport Infrastructure Contract - Construct Only (TIC-CO) now replaces the current Road Construction Contract (RCC).

There is a transition period for any RCCs already going through the tender process (or where an RCC is about to be released) to continue with the normal RCC tendering and award process. There will be a three-month grace period from end of April 2015 for RCCs to be released.

Any new tenders from May 2015 will be required to use the TIC-CO templates.

Road Construction Contract (RCC)

These General Conditions of Contract are based on the Australian Standard AS2124 1992 published by Standards Australia.

Amendments have been made, where necessary, to conform to the specific requirements of the department and Government legislation.

The Road Construction Contract (RCC) is the major roadworks contract let in open competition.

Forms on this site have been arranged by part. Individual forms can be found by form title or form number using the search facility.

User guides for the General Conditions of Contract and for the Supplementary Conditions of Contract are available to assist personnel involved in administering and delivering contracts in order to achieve a uniform approach in interpreting clauses in the general and supplementary conditions of contract.

This version of the user guides provides comments on the September 2005 version of the Road Construction Contract. It should be noted that subsequent amendments to the RCC have been issued and the guidelines have not been updated to reflect the changes.

It should also be noted that the guidelines do not form part of the contract.
