Angellala Creek Bridge plenary session
In September 2014, a truck carrying 50 tonnes of ammonium nitrate overturned and exploded on the Angellala Creek Bridge, south of Charleville. Incredibly, no fatalities occurred.
What followed - the emergency response and multidisciplinary effort to build a new and improved bridge in just over 13 months - is now set to take centre stage at this year's Forum.
Scheduled for the opening day, this two-hour plenary session will feature presentations and a panel discussion by the people involved in this remarkable achievement. The session will cover the emergency response, site assessment, bridge design, and reconstruction efforts, as well as provide an opportunity for personnel to share lessons learned.
Situated in the main foyer, the Forum Exhibition is central to the daily program, allowing delegates and exhibitors the opportunity to share knowledge and build relationships. More than 25 exhibitors attended the last forum, with this number expected to be exceeded in 2016.
The ET Forum Dinner is hosted in the Plaza Terrace Room from 5.15pm on Wednesday 24 August. With entertaining guest speaker Mick Colliss (the man who wanted to represent Australia in rugby but found Sudoku instead), fine food, and a relaxed and convivial atmosphere, the dinner is a perfect opportunity to network with more than 400 fellow professionals.
