Keeping Queensland Moving Economic Recovery Blueprint for Transport
Since the onset of COVID-19, maintaining critical supply chains and community connections has become more important than ever. Building and maintaining trust in Queensland’s transport sector is crucial for growing new jobs and driving economic recovery in our regions.
An efficient and reliable transport network ensures Queensland’s emerging industries can access growth opportunities; and is pivotal for supporting sectors that have a long and difficult road to recovery like tourism, construction and small businesses.
Keeping Queensland Moving: Economic Recovery Plan for Transport is the Queensland Government’s economic development and recovery blueprint for the transport sector. It outlines 6 recovery priorities to keep our state moving and getting Queenslanders back to work in more jobs and more industries.
What is the Economic Recovery Blueprint for Transport?
The Economic Recovery Blueprint for Transport (recovery blueprint) supports the Queensland Economic Recovery Plan: Unite and Recover for Queensland Jobs by outlining and focusing on a range of action areas and measures that maintain and deliver an accessible, safe, sustainable, responsive and efficient transport system.
Together with the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program 2020–21 to 2023–24 (which will provide a $26.9 billion pipeline of infrastructure projects to be delivered over the next 4 years), the recovery blueprint will ensure that Queensland has an accessible, sustainable and efficient transport network that matches capacity with demand, connects people with jobs and suppliers, and is affordable for people, business and government. It also supports employment for thousands of Queenslanders over the life of the program and is supporting Queensland's economic recovery through COVID-19.
The Department of Transport and Main Roads is committed to working with our industry partners to ensure our transport network can power the state’s economy through creating accessible, sustainable and efficient connections for the movement of goods and people.
