Download our free app—Wheels, Wings and Water
We joined forces with local museums from across the Darling Downs to develop a new interactive smart phone app, Toowoomba Region Transport Heritage Trail—Wheels, Wings and Water.
The free app, available for iPhone and Android, offers an exciting virtual tour with audio commentary about the history of transport in the Toowoomba region. It also contains information and directions to 8 different heritage collections you can discover in the region including the:
- importance of Indigenous pathways
- diversity of horse drawn vehicles
- power and beauty of the steam train
- ingenuity of early electric cars
- robustness of the Boomerang fighter plane.
Download the app and experience the diversity and richness of Toowoomba region’s transport heritage.
The development of the app was made possible by a Your Community Heritage grant from the Australian Government to the Cultural Heritage Network—Toowoomba Region.
How to download
To download the app, search for 'Toowoomba Region Transport Heritage Trail' in the Apple App Store or Google Play.
