Program Highlights

In 2020–21 we completed:

  • the Ipswich Motorway (Rocklea – Darra) Stage 1 project, to upgrade the motorway from four to six lanes from just east of the Oxley Road roundabout to the Granard Road interchange at Rocklea, jointly funded by the Australian Government and Queensland Government
  • the Sumners Road interchange upgrade over the Centenary Motorway
  • strengthening work on the Gateway Motorway Flyover, jointly funded by the Australian Government and Queensland Government as part of the COVID-19 economic recovery response
  • construction of the Everton Park Link Road connecting Stafford Road and South Pine Road.

In 2021–22 we will: 

  • commence construction for the Centenary Bridge upgrade on the Centenary Highway at Jindalee
  • continue construction of the Northern Transitway project to deliver bus priority measures along Gympie Arterial Road between Sadlier Street and Hamilton Road
  • continue construction of the Eastern Transitway Stage 1 along Old Cleveland Road
  • continue construction of Stage 1 of the new Springfield Central train station multi-storey park ‘n’ ride facility
  • continue design and construction of the Salisbury park ‘n’ ride upgrade
  • complete construction of the Carseldine park ‘n’ ride upgrade
  • commence construction for the upgrade of Cleveland – Redland Bay Road between Anita Street and Magnolia Parade, as part of the Queensland Government’s COVID-19 economic recovery response
  • continue planning for the upgrade of the Centenary Motorway and Logan Motorway interchange, as part of the Queensland Government’s COVID-19 economic recovery response
  • continue planning for the upgrade of the Brisbane Road, Chermside Road and Glebe Road intersection, as part of the Queensland Government’s COVID-19 economic recovery response
  • continue planning for the upgrade of the Beaudesert Road and Illaweena Street intersection, as part of the Queensland Government’s COVID-19 economic recovery response.
     

Future plans

We continue to plan for the future transport requirements of Metropolitan.

In 2021–22 key planning includes:

  • continue planning of the Boundary Road rail level crossing removal at Coopers Plains
  • continue planning of the Beams Road rail level crossing at Carseldine and Fitzgibbon
  • continue planning for six lanes on the Gateway Motorway from Bracken Ridge to Pine River
  • continue planning for the Lindum station precinct.
