Viewing, saving and printing files

This page provides information for users needing assistance to display, download, save or print documents and files linked to from this website.

Portable document format files (.pdf)

To view portable document format (PDF) files, you will need to have Adobe® Reader installed. This can be downloaded free-of-charge from the Adobe® website.

Use the Adobe® Reader to:

  • View a document by selecting the link text. The document will load into the reader.
  • Save a document for later viewing by
    • right-clicking your mouse on the link text
    • selecting Save Target As or Save Link As
    • saving the file in your preferred location.

To print a PDF file:

  1. Open the PDF you would like to print.
  2. Select File then Print.

Adobe also provides a free, web-based service for users where any PDF document on the Internet can be converted to HTML. For further information, refer to online conversion tools for Adobe PDF documents.

Microsoft Office files (.doc/.xls/.ppt)

To view, save and print Microsoft® Word, Excel® and PowerPoint® files you will need:

  • the relevant Microsoft® Office application, either as:
  • an alternative office product such as Google Docs - note that some document features may not be available
