About information bulletins

Information Bulletins are produced as a guide to assist in the understanding of the legislation and policy. The bulletins are an interpretation of the relevant Acts, Regulations and Standard should not be used as a reference to a point of law.

Clarification of any information in the bulletins may be obtained from the Department of Transport and Main Roads by contacting a passenger transport office.

The Transport Operations (Passenger Transport) Act 1994, Transport Operations (Passenger Transport) Regulation 2005 and Transport Operations (Passenger Transport) Standard 2010 can be viewed on the internet at www.legislation.qld.gov.au.

Operator related information bulletins have been updated to reflect changes in the personalised transport industry. 

From 1 October operators of taxi and booked hire services (including limousine services) no longer require Operator Accreditation to provide these services. 

However, if an operator uses a taxi, limousine or booked hire vehicle to provide a service other than a taxi or booked hire service then Operator Accreditation requirements will apply to those services. 

30 September 2017  Driver related information bulletins have been updated to reflect changes in the personalised transport industry. 
26 September 2017  The list of driver disqualifying offences for driver authorisation has been updated. 
 27 March 2017 The driver authorisation information bulletins have been updated for consistency and to include information about e-reminders.
