Beams Road (Carseldine) rail level crossing

Overview:

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is undertaking a Planning Study to investigate options to reduce congestion and address safety concerns at the Carseldine level rail crossing on Beams Road.

TMR will work closely with the community throughout the planning study and will keep you informed as the project progresses.

Location:

Carseldine.

Benefits:

The planning study will investigate options to provide:

  • improved and more reliable travel times for rail and road users
  • reduced congestion for all road users
  • improved safety and access for all road users.
Funding:

The Queensland Government is investing over $6 million into planning and design to identify a preferred option to improve safety and decrease congestion at the Carseldine rail level crossing on Beams Road.

Project info

TMR is working with Brisbane City Council which is responsible for the local road network including Beams Road, and with Queensland Rail which is responsible for the rail corridor, throughout the study’s delivery.

Future stages are dependent on the outcome of the study and funding availability.
