Overview:

Construction of a set of overtaking lanes on the Bruce Highway at Alligator Creek, south of Townsville.

Location:

Bruce Highway, between Alligator Creek Road and Allendale Drive.

Completion:

Construction commenced in November 2015 and was completed in July 2016.

Benefits:

This upgrade will create safer overtaking opportunities for motorists and improve efficiency on the highway.

Project info

Work commenced in mid-November 2015 to construct a new set of overtaking lanes on the Bruce Highway, south of Townsville.

The project involved constructing new overtaking lanes on the 2.3km section of the highway, between Alligator Creek Road and Allendale Drive to create safer overtaking opportunities for motorists and increase efficiency.

The project’s community engagement team is committed to listening to stakeholders and values all community feedback.
