Project info

Stage 4 of the Cairns Bruce Highway Master Plan extends north from Links Drive to Aumuller Street near the Port of Cairns and wharf precinct, and will see additional lanes being constructed for this section, widening the Bruce Highway from 4 to 6 lanes.

At Chinaman Creek the current northbound bridge is nearing the end of its usable life and will be removed and replaced with a new 3 lane bridge. The existing southbound bridge will be widened to 3 lanes.

The works will include upgrades to the Lyons Street and Aumuller Street intersections, with additional turning lanes to improve traffic flow.
