Bruce Highway (Lochinvar Station Road to Collinsons Lagoon): widening and strengthening

Overview:

Widening and strengthening of a 650m section, and installing a 1m wide centre line treatment on the Bruce Highway.

Location:

Bruce Highway, between Giru and Ayr.

Completion:

Construction commenced in October 2016 and was completed in March 2017.

Benefits:

Improved safety and efficiency for road users.

Supplier:

Vassallo Constructions delivered this project.

Funding:

$3.82 million including $3.06 million committed by the Australian Government and $765,000 committed by the Queensland Government.

Project info

This project involved the widening and strengthening of a 650m section, and installing a 1m wide centre line treatment on the Bruce Highway; and supported an average of six jobs over the life of the project.

This project delivered vital improvements to road safety, freight connectivity and productivity, and formed part of the Queensland Government’s Accelerated Works Program, aimed at supporting local workers.
