Bruce Highway Safety Package Three Mile Creek to Bororen

Overview:

The Bruce Highway Safety Package will see widening works take place south of Bororen. The project will also include upgrades to The Bruce Highway intersection with Koorawatha Drive, Reedbed Road, Scotts Road and Bororen Cemetery intersections.

Project info

The Bororen upgrades are part of the Bruce Highway Safety Package which targets key areas for safety improvement, including widening work. The Three Mile Creek to Bororen project includes upgrading and reconstructing sections of the highway to improve safety and traffic efficiency.

Works being delivered as part of the Australian Government’s Bruce Highway Safety Package include:

  • Widening sections to incorporate a wide centre line treatment (WCLT) to provide greater separation between motorists travelling in opposite directions
  • Applying audio tactile line marking on centre/edge lines
  • Removing or protecting roadside hazards
  • Intersection upgrades to provide turning-lanes.

Construction of The Bruce Highway Safety Package works between Three Mile Creek and Bororen commenced in December 2016 and will take up to 6 months to complete, weather permitting.
