Bruce Highway Upgrade—Deception Bay Road to Caboolture-Bribie Island Road

A planning study has been undertaken to investigate future upgrade requirements on the Bruce Highway between Deception Bay Road and Caboolture-Bribie Island Road.

Preliminary Evaluation planning considered options to improve capacity and reduce congestion and weaving caused by traffic exiting and entering the highway.

Project update

On 28 March 2022, the Australian Government and the Queensland Government committed $34 million on an 80:20 (federal:state) basis towards 3 business cases for upgrades on the Bruce Highway between Anzac Avenue and Caboolture–Bribie Island Road:

Business case planning is underway and expected to be complete in late 2024. As planning progresses, TMR will consult with the community.
