Project info

Mogilno Road intersection: $1.75 million

This project consists of an intersection upgrade and installation of auxiliary left turn and protected right-hand turns at the Mogilno Road intersection on the Bruce Highway, approximately 14km south of Rockhampton. Protected right hand turning lanes improve safety by separating through and turning traffic, reducing the potential for rear-end crashes.

An average of 6 direct jobs will be supported over the life of the project.

South of Bob’s Creek safety works: $7.8 million

The safety works south of Bob’s Creek Road will consist of 1.5km of formation (road) widening including extension of drainage structure and installation of Wide centre-line treatment (WCLT) which provides motorists greater separation between opposing lanes of traffic.

An average of 17 direct jobs will be supported over the life of the project.

The Bruce Highway Upgrade Program (BHUP) is jointly funded by the Australian Department of Infrastructure, Regional Development and Cities (DIRDC), and the Queensland Government, through the Department of Transport and Main Roads. The BHUP is a $12.6 billion 15-year program of works (2013-14 to 2027-28) to improve safety, flood resilience and capacity along the Bruce Highway.
