Project info

The new bridge will result in improved safety, flood immunity, community connectivity and reduced maintenance costs.

In August 2018, the Australian Government announced another round of successful projects as part of its Heavy Vehicle Safety and Productivity Program (HVSPP). This included a $5 million funding contribution to replace the Coondoo Creek Bridge, at a total cost of $14.821m. The department has welcomed this commitment and is currently liaising with the federal government about a state government funding contribution and timeframes.
