Gold Coast Springbrook Road Mudgeeraba Creek Causeway upgrade
We are planning for a future upgrade of the Mudgeeraba Creek Causeway on Gold Coast–Springbrook Road, Austinville.
The future upgrade will involve:
- constructing upstream wing walls to prevent debris blockage
- improving the road alignment
- constructing new pavement on both approaches to the causeway
- constructing gabion retaining walls.
Benefits
- Improves safety
- Improves flood immunity
Current status
Design is now complete, however there is no funding currently available for construction of the upgrade of the Mudgeeraba Creek Causeway.
Key milestones
- Mid-2017: complete business case.
- Mid-2018: site survey and geotechnical investigations.
- Early 2018: design tender awarded.
- Early 2019: design completed.
