Lawnton Station park 'n' ride upgrade

Overview:

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has started design work on a new $10.4 million Lawnton Station park 'n' ride facility which will provide about 250 new car parking spaces.

Location:

Corner of Slater Avenue and Ebert Parade, Lawnton.

Completion:

Design for the new facility is scheduled to be finalised by the end of 2019, with construction anticipated to start in mid-2020, weather and construction schedule permitting.

Benefits:

The new Lawnton Station park 'n' ride facility will:

  • increase parking spaces at Lawnton Station
  • improve safety and connectivity for customers.

Funding:

$10.4 million as detailed in the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program 2019–20 to 2022–23.

Project info

The new park 'n' ride facility will have the following features:

  • lighting and CCTV for enhanced visibility and security
  • landscaping to provide visual amenity
  • pedestrian crossing facilities to improve pedestrian connectivity to and from the station
  • provision for secure bike parking facilities
  • improved accessible parking bays near Lawnton Station.
