Project info

The Department of Transport and Main Roads is progressing well with design work to improve safety along sections of Burpengary-Caboolture Road (locally known as Morayfield Road) and Beerburrum Road in Morayfield and Caboolture.

A $28.8 million suite of works will be delivered as part of the department’s Targeted Road Safety Program which aims to improve road safety by implementing high-benefit, cost-effective treatments at known and potential crash locations. These treatments will be delivered at site specific locations along Morayfield Road and Beerburrum Road and will include new traffic signals, modifications to existing signals, turn lane extensions or additional turning lanes, and pedestrian facility improvements across 23 intersections. Works will also include removing roadside hazards and installing wide centre lines at identified locations, and an upgrade of road signs, guideposts and pavement reflectors along the extent of the project.

The following sections of Morayfield Road and Beerburrum Road will benefit from the safety treatments:

Morayfield Road

Beerburrum Road

With a daily average of 32,000 vehicles using Morayfield Road and approximately 21,800 vehicles travelling Beerburrum Road, these safety improvements will play a vital role in providing a safe and more efficient network for Morayfield and Caboolture.

The construction program will roll out progressively as each design is finalised, and details of these safety treatments, as works progress, will be available via the above links provided.

The project team will engage with key stakeholders on the proposed designs as they are developed. Following stakeholder engagement, the project team will make the design layouts available online for the wider community.

Construction commenced in September 2018, with the final stages of the project anticipated to be complete in 2021.
