Mount Lindesay Highway: North Maclean safety improvements

Overview:

The North Maclean safety improvement project was completed in December 2019.  The traffic lights at the intersection of Greenbank Road and the Mount Lindesay Highway were open to traffic on 3 November 2019.

Location:

North Maclean.

Benefits:

The upgrade improves safety and efficiency on this section of the highway.

Funding:

The project was jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments with the Australian Government providing $16 million and the Queensland Government providing $4 million for the project as outlined in the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program 2019–20 to 2022–23.

Project info

The North Maclean upgrade connects St Aldwyn Road and Wearing Road to a new service road. This service road joins to a new signalised intersection at Greenbank Road and the existing grade-separated interchange at Chambers Flat Road. 

Since completion, businesses and residents between St Aldwyn Road and Wearing Road  now have direct access to the service road.

  • Mid-2018—service relocations, construction procurement.
  • Mid to late 2018—early works.
  • Early 2019—construction commenced.
  • Early 2020—construction complete.
