Mount Lindesay Highway: North Maclean safety improvements

Overview:

The Department of Transport and Main Roads is planning for a safety upgrade on the Mount Lindesay Highway at North Maclean. 

The upgrade at North Maclean includes connecting St Aldwyn Road and Wearing Road to a new service road that joins to a new signalised intersection at Greenbank Road and the existing grade-separated interchange at Chambers Flat Road.

Project info

The upgrade at North Maclean includes connecting St Aldwyn Road and Wearing Road to a new service road. This service roads joins to a new signalised intersection at Greenbank Road and the existing grade-separated interchange at Chambers Flat Road. 

Once constructed, business and residents between St Aldwyn Road and Wearing Road will have direct access onto the service road.

  • Early to mid-2018—detailed design.
  • Mid-2018—Service relocations, construction procurement.
  • Mid- to late 2018—Early works begin.
  • Early 2019—Main construction expected to begin.

Community info

Early works are underway and include:

  • vegetation removal
  • fencing
  • service relocations such as water, electricity and telecommunication.

The project team held community information session in June 2018. These informal sessions provided an opportunity for the local community to review the design and discuss the Mount Lindesay Highway upgrades with the project team.
