Mount Lindesay Highway: North Maclean safety improvements

The Department of Transport and Main Roads is planning for a safety upgrade on the Mount Lindesay Highway at North Maclean.

Project info

The upgrade at North Maclean includes connecting St Aldwyn Road and Wearing Road to a new service road. This service road joins to a new signalised intersection at Greenbank Road and the existing grade-separated interchange at Chambers Flat Road. 

Once constructed, businesses and residents between St Aldwyn Road and Wearing Road will have direct access to the service road.

  • Early 2019—construction commenced.
  • Late 2019—construction complete.

Construction of the project has progressed. The next stage of works includes permanent traffic changes for St Aldwyn Road and temporary traffic changes on the Mount Lindesay Highway.

Access to St Aldwyn Road from the Mount Lindesay Highway is now permanently closed. Until late 2019, for access to St Aldwyn Road enter via the Chambers Flat Road/Crowson Lane interchange.

The new service road will open to southbound traffic between St Aldwyn Road and Wearing Road in early September 2019. 

The service road will open to two-way traffic between St Aldwyn Road and Wearing Road in late September 2019. 

These traffic arrangements will remain in place until late 2019, when the new signalised intersection at Greenbank Road is complete.
