Murarrie Station park ‘n’ ride: car park upgrade


The Department of Transport and Main Roads is currently undertaking stage 2 works of the Murarrie Station park ‘n’ ride car park upgrade.

The upgrade will increase:

  • car park capacity at Murarrie Station adding 132 spaces
  • safety and security for commuters with improved lighting and security cameras.

Project info

This project will be completed in 2 stages. 

Stage 1 works at the southern side of the car park were completed in December 2017.

Stage 2 of the project includes:

  • construction of a car park on existing vacant land to add an additional 132 car parks
  • the installation of additional lighting and CCTV equipment to improve safety for park ‘n’ ride facility users.

During construction you can expect:

  • access to the northern car park to be closed for the duration of construction
  • traffic management including traffic control and signage will be in place where required
  • impacts to commuters using the existing park ‘n’ ride facilities will be minimised as access to the southern car park will be maintained at all times.  

Construction of this project  commenced on site in November 2018, and are expected to be completed mid 2019, weather and construction conditions permitting.
