Project info

Installation of the Queen Street Bus Station Platform 2 lift will commence construction in October 2018. The lift to Platform 2 will provide full access to Queen Street Bus Station for all passengers, including those who have difficulty using stairs.

Construction will include the installation of a lift and lift shaft from Queen Street ground level to Queen Street Bus Station Platform 2, removal of an existing decommissioned mechanical vent and the relocation of the existing stairwell.

The installation will commence in October 2018 and is expected to be completed mid-2019, construction and weather conditions permitting. Standard construction hours will be from 6am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday. Construction in November 2018 will include night works from 8pm to 6am, for pedestrian safety reasons and to minimise busway disruption.

Relocation of the existing stairwell near the Queen Street water feature includes the temporary closure of the stairs leading down to Platform 2 from October 2018 to May 2019. Customers wishing to access Platform 2 will be diverted to the stairs approximately 50 metres away near George Street. Directional signage and updates to the TransLink app and website will assist passengers in finding alternative routes to bus services on Platform 2.

There may be some changes to services using Platform 2 of the Queen Street Bus Station during installation of the lift. For further information on passenger services, download the MyTranslink app and visit the TransLink website or call 13 12 30.

We thank you for your patience and cooperation during these important works.
