Sandgate and Junction Roads intersection upgrade, Clayfield

Overview:

The intersection at Sandgate and Junction Roads, Clayfield is one of the busiest in the Brisbane metropolitan area, with more than 51,000 vehicles passing through each day.

The department will undertake a safety improvement upgrade at this intersection from mid-2016 until the end of 2016.

Sandgate and Junction Roads, Clayfield.

Benefits:

The upgrade will improve safety at this intersection for pedestrians, road users and the local community.

Funding:

$6.9 million.

Project info

The department will begin work upgrading the intersection at Sandgate and Junction Roads, Clayfield from mid-2015 and is expected to be completed by end of 2016, weather and construction conditions permitting.

The future upgrade of the Sandgate and Junction Roads intersection will improve safety for road users, pedestrians and the local community.

Project timeframes

The upgrade works are being carried out in stages:

  • service investigation works (up to 5 weeks duration) – completed May 2015
  • service relocation works (approximately 6 months duration) – completed early 2016
  • upgrade works to modify lanes, medians, some footpaths (up to 6 months duration) – to begin mid 2016.
