Withcott Intersections Planning Project

We are investigating road and intersection upgrades at the Toowoomba Connection road intersections of Withcott, specifically the Biggs Road and Jones Road intersections.

The opening of the Toowoomba Bypass has seen a significant reduction in heavy vehicles travelling through Withcott. We can now focus on planning to improve the area for residents while making it easier for road users to visit local businesses.

The primary objective of this project is to improve connectivity in Withcott, particularly north/south movements across Withcott. It has the added benefits of:

  • providing safer pedestrian access
  • providing cycling facilities to encourage active transport
  • providing safer public transport facilities
  • improving access to local businesses
  • improving general traffic flow through Withcott.

Benefits

  • Improves safety
  • Better road access
  • Increases traffic flow

Key features

  • A signalised intersection at Jones Road.
  • A new side street connecting Jean Street with the Toowoomba Connection Road.
  • Additional turning lanes along the Toowoomba Connection Road.

Current status

While the project is still in the planning phase, we would like feedback on the suggested plan from the Withcott community.
