Cycling and Walking Australia and New Zealand (CWANZ)

Cycling and Walking Australia and New Zealand (CWANZ) was established in 2018 as a new leadership group to collaborate on and co-ordinate cycling and walking action at a national and international level.

CWANZ replaced the Australian Bicycle Council, but the Australian Bicycle Council website is still available and hosts a range of research and reports from pre-2018.

Australian Bicycle Council

Before it was replaced by CWANZ, the Australian Bicycle Council reported annually to the Transport and Infrastructure Council, through Austroads and the Transport and Infrastructure Senior Officials' Committee (TISOC), on the implementation of the Australian National Cycling Strategy. The Australian Bicycle Council drew on input from Austroads, road agencies, the cycling industry and bicycle users on cycling issues.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads has previously released historical reports to the Australian Bicycle Council including cycling related research, and these can be accessed from the ABC website.
