Disability Services Plan 2022–2025

Our Department of Transport and Main Roads Disability Services Plan 2022-2025 is a 3-year road map on how we will build inclusive and accessible workplaces and transport products and services. We want to ensure our actions in this plan remove barriers for people with disability.

The Disability Services Act 2006 (Queensland) requires the Queensland Government to develop a new state disability plan every five years. This plan sets out actions that will help the Queensland Government meet its obligations under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. It is also the Queensland Government’s implementation plan for achieving outcomes under Australia’s Disability Strategy 2021–2031.

The Disability Services Act also requires state government departments to prepare disability plans. These plans need to describe how the agency will address access and inclusion barriers for people with disability, as both service users and employees. The Disability Services Plan 2022–2025 aligns to the outcome’s framework of the state disability plan and demonstrates how our plan contributes to the Queensland Government achieving state-wide outcomes.

Actions in this plan embed consultation principles and include the promotion of equal rights and opportunities for people living with disability, maintaining an accessible transport system, and recognising and valuing diversity. In continuing our work towards these goals, we celebrate the contribution that all people bring to TMR through varied experiences, views and lifestyles and we look forward to further enriching what we do through the promotion of inclusion, accessibility, and diversity.
