Final report highlights

The Digital Professional Workforce Action Plan 2020–2024 has concluded with outstanding results, showcasing the significant strides Queensland has made in digital skills development and workforce readiness. As outlined in the final report, the initiative has exceeded expectations, reflecting the dedication and collaborative efforts of all involved.

Key outcomes

Training success

The program aimed to equip 10,000 Queenslanders with vital digital skills by 2024. We exceeded this target, successfully training 15,841 individuals. These participants ranged from students and career changers to mature-age workers and First Nations communities, ensuring a diverse and inclusive approach to workforce development.

Widespread engagement

Our digital careers campaign reached an impressive 454,812 Queenslanders, sparking interest in digital careers and enhancing public awareness of the opportunities within the digital economy.

Regional impact

A significant focus was placed on strengthening the digital capabilities of regional Queensland. The program engaged 9,414 participants from these areas, addressing unique regional challenges and helping bridge the digital divide.

Inclusivity at the core

The plan prioritised inclusivity, with over 3,970 First Nations people, 6,500 women and 739 culturally and linguistically diverse individuals receiving training. These efforts have contributed to a more equitable digital workforce across Queensland.

Looking forward

While the Digital Professional Workforce Action Plan 2020–2024 has officially concluded, the momentum it has generated will continue to drive Queensland's digital transformation. The lessons learned and successes achieved will inform future initiatives as we remain committed to empowering Queenslanders with the skills necessary to thrive in the ever-evolving digital landscape.
