Training requirements for existing AIS scheme members

Existing AIS approval holders, nominees and approved examiners must successfully complete the required AIS training between 1 November 2024 and no later than 30 April 2025. All individual AIS approval holders, nominee approval holders and approved examiners must complete the AIS Core Module.

In addition to the AIS Core Module, approved examiners must complete the inspection modules for each inspection type they are accredited for.

If you do not successfully complete the required training in full by 30 April 2025, the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) may take action to amend, suspend or cancel your AIS or nominee approval and/or your approved examiner accreditation.

Pre-requisites

There are no prerequisites to complete the training.

Training costs

There will be no cost to existing approval holders, nominees, and approved examiners to undertake the training between 1 November 2024 to 30 April 2025. TMR will fully subsidise training modules for the accreditations and/or approvals held by existing AIS Scheme members as at 1 November 2024.

TMR will not subsidise the following:

• Any new inspection types you add from 1 November 2024.
• Any training modules you enrol in after 30 April 2025.
• If your accreditation and/or approval has expired.

In these circumstances scheme members will be responsible for the costs of completing the training post 30 April 2025. These costs are listed below.

Discount for completing multiple modules

For scheme members paying for the training, the following discounts are available if you complete the AIS Core Module and three or more inspection modules.

Accessing the training

If you are currently an AIS or a nominee approval holder, and/or an approved examiner, you can access the training by completing the Existing AIS Scheme Member Consent Form. After completing the form, you will receive an email from TAFE Queensland with your login details and instructions to access the training.

Note: It may take 2 to 3 days after completing the form to receive your training access.

After completing the training

If you have consented to TAFE Queensland providing TMR with confirmation that you have completed your training, this will be provided by TAFE Queensland to TMR directly. If you haven't consented to TAFE Queensland providing TMR with this information, you will be required email your digital badge to [email protected].
