The Transport and Main Roads Library, administered by TMR Library Services, has a physical collection which specialises in the following subject areas:

- freight transport
- marine engineering
- passenger and public transport
- ports and shipping
- road and bridge design and construction
- road safety
- traffic engineering and control
- transport economics
- transport planning
Public access
Some of the library’s resources are available for loan to members of the public through public, corporate or government libraries, using the interlibrary loan and document delivery service.

Information for libraries
TMR Library Services participates in inter-library loan and document delivery schemes through Libraries Australia's LADD scheme. TMR Library’s holdings in the National Library of Australia’s catalogue are identifiable by the NUC symbol: QMR.
TMR Library is a member of the Queensland Government libraries Consortia, Tranzinfo and GratisNet networks.
