Mount Lindesay Highway—Beaudesert Town Centre Bypass
The bypass was opened in September 2017 and has reduced the flow of heavy vehicle traffic in the Beaudesert town centre by providing a more efficient alternative route.
The town centre bypass starts at the existing Mount Lindesay Highway, near the saw mill (Helen Street), and runs to the west of the town centre with an intersection at Bromelton Street (Beaudesert–Boonah Road) and includes:
- a 2-lane, 1.5km urban road
- 60km/h at the intersections, with an 80km/h speed limit along the bypass
- at grade signalised intersections at Helen Street and Bromelton Street
- Q50 flood immunity, a 50m bridge across Spring Creek and major drainage culverts particularly at Fisher’s Gully.

Key features
The bypass has:
- reduced the flow of heavy vehicles travelling through the Beaudesert town centre.
- provided a dedicated route to service the increasing freight demands in the Beaudesert and Bromelton areas including the Bromelton State Development Area.
- allowed local traffic to continue using the existing alignment through the town centre.
- improved safety for pedestrians and all road users in the town centre.
- Allowed Scenic Rim Regional Council to progress revitalisation of the town centre.
Funding
The Queensland Government partnered with Scenic Rim Regional Council to deliver the $27.5 million Beaudesert Town Centre Bypass.

Current Status
The bypass of the Beaudesert town centre off the Mount Lindesay Highway was opened to traffic on 20 September 2017.
