North Brisbane Bikeway
The North Brisbane Bikeway is a critical cycle corridor for greater Brisbane, connecting the CBD through to Chermside.
We are delivering the project in partnership with Brisbane City Council, and the new bikeway will encourage more cycling, more often, across all ages.
Stage 1: complete.
Stages 2 and 3: completed in late-February 2020.
Stage 4: construction is commencing soon.
Stage 4 is along Dickson Street, Wooloowin from Rigby Street to Price Street.
Further stages of the North Brisbane Bikeway connecting Wooloowin to Chermside will be delivered by Brisbane City Council in partnership with the state government.
The North Brisbane Bikeway includes priority pedestrian and cycle crossings at a number of intersections. These crossings operate similarly to pedestrian 'zebra' crossings, providing people walking and cycling with priority over vehicles when crossing the street.
The crossings consist of a raised platform and coloured road surface to identify give way areas and the cycle crossing. Ample space has been provided to allow vehicles to stop safely, clear of the crossing.
